everyone deserves fresh produce

Volunteer with us this season

The GardenWorks Project has begun its thirteenth season expanding access to fresh produce for individuals and families facing food insecurity. Thanks to collaborations with volunteers, donors, local businesses and social service organizations, our season is starting off strong.  We’ve filled 182 garden plots across the western suburbs with soil, compost, vegetables and herb seedlings and our gardeners have already begun reaping the rewards.

WEEKLY WORK AND LEARN EVENTS

GardenWorks Project cultivates its own community gardens in Wheaton, growing produce exclusively for our local food assistance partners. We host weekly volunteer Work and Learn events at The GardenWorks Project community gardens in Wheaton. For one hour on Mondays 9am and Thursdays 9:30am, we will tend to the plants and harvest produce for local food pantries. Come together in community to nurture our neighbors and take away knowledge for your own garden or community.

Location: GardenWorks Community Gardens at the DuPage County Fairgrounds 2015 Manchester Road, Wheaton, IL 60187

Directions: Enter off of Manchester Rd, gate S3, drive straight to the parking lot at the end by the white fence. Park and walk through the fence at Gate W9 on the west side of the parking lot and gardens are on the left, by the picnic bench.
