Volunteer with us this season

The GardenWorks Project has begun its thirteenth season expanding access to fresh produce for individuals and families facing food insecurity. Thanks to collaborations with volunteers, donors, local businesses and social service organizations, our season is starting off strong.  We’ve filled 182 garden plots across the western suburbs with soil, compost, vegetables and herb seedlings and our gardeners have already begun reaping the rewards.

Would you like to be part of this year’s vibrant volunteer team?

Your hands can help shape our community gardens and nurture our neighbors. Opportunities abound, whether you prefer to work in the gardens or beyond. We may have a gardening opportunity near you, so check our signupgenius page and RSVP

GardenWorks Project cultivates its own community gardens in Wheaton, growing produce exclusively for our local food assistance partners. We host weekly volunteer Work and Learn events at The GardenWorks Project community gardens in Wheaton. For one hour on Mondays 9am and Thursdays 9:30am, we will tend to the plants and harvest produce for local food pantries. Come together in community to nurture our neighbors and take away knowledge for your own garden or community.
